Realised Water Saving - 3.5 GL/Annum
This new technology automated the operation of regulating structures and has saved water through reduced over supply and weir pool spills. Operationally these spills typically flow into drains where water had been previously used by opportunistic licenced diverters or evaporated before it reached a regulated water course.
The savings will accrue through the subdivision of Coleambally Irrigation Cooperative Limited's conveyance licence.
This project has:
- Achieved 3.5 gigalitres per annum in water savings which can be returned to the river system for use in environmental flows
- Improved service levels to irrigators along the southern portion of the Coleambally Irrigation area
