Normanville Pipeline Project - Victoria

Swan Hill Area

Estimated Saving - 3.9 Gigalitres

The Normanville District stock and domestic water supply system covers an area of 68,000 hectares between Kerang, Quambatook and Boort townships, and some additional properties adjacent to the existing Normanville District.  The system provides an annual dam fill for stock and domestic use to 150 properties.

The project replaced 335 kilometres of open channels with 295 kilometres of pipelines and delivers an estimated 400ML per year to the 150 properties.  The scheme  replaced the existing water supply system to the township of Quambatook.

Benefits of the scheme:

  • more reliable and better quality water to farms and towns
  • returned 3.9 gigalitres per annum of water efficiency saving to the river system as environmental flows
