Hay Private Irrigation District (PID) Pressurised Stock and Domestic Scheme, NSW
Water Saved 1,000 ML (1 GL) Hay PID Conveyance Entitlement The Hay PID is situated 2km north of Hay, covers an area of 36 square kilometres and supplies about 80 small farms with irrigation and stock and domestic water through a network of open channels. The delivery of stock and domestic water through the open channel system in periods outside the irrigation season has proven to be highly inefficient. This project has provided a pressurised pipeline for the supply for stock and domestic water as an alternate, more efficient supply system. This means that the open channels can remain dry during the non-irrigation period. The pipeline has also provided a secure stock and domestic supply system to the PID customers even in times of severe drought.
